ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieve safety, service, and cost targets in the Transportation department
• Develop and lead a safety-first culture
• Oversee and mentor Transportation Managers and personnel
• Build high-performing teams and monitor performance goals
• Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal DOT regulations
• Identify process improvement and cost reduction strategies
• Analyze daily performance measures and recommend changes SUPERVISION:
  • Direct: Transportation Managers, union and/or non-union transportation associates
  • Indirect: Union and/or non-union drivers RELATIONSHIPS
    • Internal: Transportation leaders and coworkers, VP Operations, Drivers, Warehouse leaders
    • External: Customers WORK ENVIRONMENT
      • Combination of office and truck environment MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
        • Minimum of five years of transportation/delivery supervision required Travel: 10% travel required for mandatory meetings and/or training. Education/Training: High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
          • Must be able to perform various physical activities for described length of time
